An Overview Of Behavior Modification
Updated December 23, 2022 by BetterHelp Editorial Team | Medically reviewed by Deborah Way , LPC
"Behavior modification is generally thought of as the process of changing patterns of human behavior using various motivational techniques, such as negative and positive reinforcement, extinction, fading, shaping, and chaining. It can be a useful tool to encourage desirable behaviors in yourself, your children, or your co-workers. There are strategies that may improve the effectiveness of behavior modification, and a coach or counselor may help you determine the best ones to achieve your desired change." Deborah Way, LPC
"Behavior Modification equals transformational change which can be accomplished all at once or little by little. One thing for sure, once what needs to be changed is recognized, to continue on the same path is a conscious decision to go against your highest good. Hence, upon realization, deciding to change at once is to flow rapidly towards your highest good." Val Catt, M.A., Health Psychologist and Master Mental Health Coach

What are the benefits of certification?
Earning a certification can give you a big leg up in the job market. It’s a key item that hiring employers and clients look for in curriculum vitae . Some employers may also require their professionals to have certain certifications. This can be true especially in health care or government service fields.
Certifications are designated credentials earned by an individual to verify their legitimacy and competence in a professional role. Your certification is typically displayed as a document stating that as a professional, you've been trained, educated and are prepared to meet a specific set of educational criteria for your role. This statement is awarded only after you've passed the proper assessments administered by a recognized third-party credentialing institution.
COREPSO Certifications are accepted by 99% of courts and judicial systems. Employers and potential clients must be able to trust that credentialing materials remain accurate and up to date and use top-quality content. COREPSO is an institution trusted to set the standards of an industry and develop the necessary training to prepare individuals to enter or advance in the field of work they're trained in (see justification letter above).
During your certification, you will engage in assessments, surveys and processes which you can copy and paste to your training transcript to create your own personal plan of study or coaching curriculum. Furthermore, after three years, you may take a recertification booster program upon presenting your completed training transcript and 30-hours of continuing education.
Professional certification is a compliment to accredited degree work, meant to enhance your education or professional experience in your field. Once you've earned a titled certification, you are given a designation that you can use in your curriculum vitae as a way to distinguish certified professionals from their uncertified peers.
What is the immediate benefit to certification?
Perhaps the most immediately-coveted benefit of being professionally certified in your field is the increase you see in your earning potential. Not only will you be hired in at a higher position (that comes with higher starting pay), you can look forward to receiving better raises and bonuses in the future, especially if you remain up to date on your certification's renewals and new advancements in your field.
Keeping up to date on emerging industry trends and innovations in your field can help you seamlessly integrate new methods and processes into your current routine. Making the effort to continue to grow your knowledge and skills can allow you to remain up to date with excellence in your field in terms of both expertise and innovations. You can look forward to being more productive while continuously increasing the quality of your output and even inventing new products, tools or processes that increase your value exponentially.
Professional certifications are becoming increasingly valuable to employers and cliets, leading to many companies actually requiring said certifications in order to be hired as an employee or consultant. Not only do they consider it a demonstration of your professionalism and adherence to the highest industry standards, but it also shows that you're willing to keep steadily improving. These qualities can help increase your professional credibility within your professional network, with your clients/employer and in your industry as a whole.
